New Wave Strategist & Researcher
We are seeking to expand New Wave to continue our work towards effective climate design curriculum. You’ll work with our existing team in an effort to develop New Wave 2.0–the next phase in understanding & addressing barriers to design curriculum change.
We are seeking to add the following roles:
New Wave Strategists: A systems thinker who can see big picture as well as get dirty in the planning details. We are seeking at least two individuals that would be the brains behind the project moving forward including developing plans, maintaining schedules, and creating content. You should feel confident in writing and/or design, have a strong organizational background, as well as be flexible with your job's role.
New Wave Researchers: We are seeking at least two new researchers to help support our team's efforts in understanding design curriculums big problems. Individuals in this role should have at least some understanding of design research best practices, as well as the ability to keep things moving along. Your main job will be speaking to individuals and following up on research as well as planning the ways in which research is conducted. As with most research roles, flexibility is key.
Although working in the Design Education space is a great help, it is not required to work with us. So if you're passionate about building the next generation of climate designers please join us.
Time commitment: 1 hour per month for video calls. Additional time fluctuates depending on tasks, averaging 2-10 hours per month. Long term commitment is helpful but not required.
Design Specialty Leads
We are building a cross disciplinary team of deeply knowledgeable people to help curate our newsletter and Resource Library. We are seeking those who are well versed in their design discipline in a sustainability/climate context. Ideally, you have your finger on the pulse—you know what to read/watch/listen to to stay on top on your design discipline.
This is a lightweight curatorial and advisory role of 1-2 hours/month.

Chapter & Hub Leadership Team
We are seeking to build a team to develop and manage our domestic and international Chapters & Hubs. You’ll work with existing documentation and onboarding systems, but we welcome your experience in developing better processes. The team as a whole will continue to build more resources and training materials to support our Chapter & Hub leaders.
We are seeking to build a team in the following roles:
Chapter & Hub Management Lead: You would be the point person interfacing with interested new Chapter & Hub leads, answering questions, onboarding, and managing the Chapter & Hub team.
Chapter & Hub Regional Leads: We are seeking three regional leads covering the Americas, EMEA, and Asian time zones to act as the point person and representative for Chapters & Hubs within each region, as well as facilitate occasional events for leads to connect with other Chapters & Hubs near them.
Chapters Month Coordinator: Support communication and coordination between our global Chapter & Hub leads and central team regarding our quarterly chapters week events.
Time commitment: About 1–2 hours per week with a 6-month commitment.
Communications Advisory Team
We are looking to build up our external comm channels, including our newsletter and social media accounts.
We would like to work with communication professionals on an advisory basis with the following goals:
Develop our LinkedIn strategy
Refine our Instagram strategy
Newsletter strategy
We’d like to build a team to support us with the above to ensure we have a cohesive communications strategy moving forward.
Looking for someone with 5+ years of experience managing social platforms and know the ins-and-outs of engagement.
Time commitment: Short-term, 3–4 1-hour calls
Fundraising Advisors
We are seeking support on fundraising. We have done a lot of research and outreach, but are new to the non-profit world and are looking to level up with the help of experienced fundraisers. Please note we are pursuing grants, foundations, donations, corporate giving, etc… and are not a startup pursuing VC funding.
This could be a light advisory role in the following capacities:
Grant research
Grant writing
Fundraising strategy
This could also mean a bigger role for those interested in supporting our organization in a meaningful way. In this case we are open to all forms of future compensation agreements as per industry standards.
